How much do lessons cost?

Our standard lesson rate is $240/60 min lesson, though there is sometimes a $200/60 min lesson rate available depending on the location. However, the total cost of your dance is going to be more dependent on how many lessons you'll need than the per-lesson rate.

How many lessons will I need?
On average our couples will need between 4-15 lessons, which we know is a very wide and unhelpful range. The reason for the wide range is that the number of lessons you'll need will depend on the kind of dance you want, any applicable experience you have, how much practice time you can commit to between lessons, etc. These are all things we'll discuss during that free remote consultation, and we'll be able to give you a much better quote then.

Do you offer packages?
If our couples commit to taking 3 lessons or more, we'll throw in cutting their music for free. Otherwise, we prefer not to use packages unless someone is trying to buy a bundle as a gift. Wedding couples tend to be in the busiest times of their lives, and whenever we've used packages before we've always found them to put extra pressure on unpredictable schedules. We'd rather keep the flexibility and save us all some stress.

We'll be working out of either Pearl Studios (500 8th Ave, 10018) or Big Apple Ballroom (78 5th Ave, Floor 5, 10011).

My wedding is over a year away,

when should I reach out?
ASAP, always! Just because you reach out now doesn't mean we'll start lessons right away. Even if your wedding is a long ways away and you only need a few lessons, that head start gives us the chance to plan around travel and other unavailabilities. Plus, last minute wedding logistics stress spikes that last month and, if at all possible, we want your dance well and comfortable by then.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yup! A few dance lessons make an excellent addition to any holiday list or bridal shower registries. We offer physical and digital gift certificates for 3, 6, or 12 lessons that we can send to you or your recipient. If your couple ultimately does not need that many lessons we will refund the difference to you after their last, and if they need more, you or they can add on lessons as needed.

What if we're beginners, clumsy,

injured, etc?
Then you've come to the right studio! Very, very few people come to us with partner dancing experience (though it is always a gift when they do!). We really prioritize meeting couples where they're at and using whatever tools are available to us. At the consultation, we'll go over any dance experience whatsoever (clubbing or drunk wedding dancing counts!), any movement experience (sports, martial arts), any music training, etc. All of that is more relevant than you think, and all of that information will help us make a dance that really feels like it fits on your bodies.
What else do you specialize in?
Besides beginners (as mentioned above), we love when couples come in with wildly ambitious visions: we're talking lifts, four-part medleys, lip-syncing, hip hop, all of that and more. We're also lift specialists, and have our own set of lifts made specifically for non-dancers. Also we gotta mention since now it's happened twice, if anybody wants to join our growing catalogue of alumni who have awesome sword fights over their cake, Eos knows how to sword fight.
